With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of David William Kennedy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away at home in Joshua, Texas, on July 4th, 2025, at the age of 82. He was surrounded by love and the warmth of family.
David was born on November 14, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to James and Caroline Kennedy. He dedicated six years of his life to serving his country in the U.S. Army, beginning in 1961. Following his military service, he embarked on a rewarding career with the U.S. Postal Service, a journey that spanned 33 years and saw him touch countless lives with his warmth and humor. In 2000, David retired and enjoyed different chapters of life, first in North Carolina and then in Kentucky, before ultimately moving to Texas in 2013 to be closer to his beloved family.
David was a master of humor, a true jokester whose laughter echoed in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. His passion for woodworking revealed a creative spirit, crafting pieces that will forever hold memories of his artistry.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Tenna M. Kennedy; children, David, Peggy, and Eric Kennedy; Anthony, Matthew, and Jessica Gray; as well as his precious grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Aron, Taylor, Shaun, Aaron, Izabella, Elijah, and Cheyenne, and five great-grandchildren.
