David Allen Halker

December 20, 1954 — December 9, 2025

Keller, TX

David Allen Halker, 70, of Keller, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2025.

Born on December 20, 1954, in Mansfield, Ohio, David spent his childhood in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. He graduated from Marquette University High School and later earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida—beginning a lifelong devotion to his beloved Gators.

David built a long and respected career in Material Handling and Automation. His professional journey began in Milwaukee and Chicago before ultimately bringing him to Dallas, where he continued to grow in his field and build lasting relationships.

David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy (Olson); his children Gabrielle (Todd) Hunt, Trish (Sean) Green, and Chelsea Halker; and his grandchildren Jack Mello, Kacey Smith, Hannah (Tyler) Cribb, Garrett (Abbie) Cain, Julia Cain, Emma Cain, and Braxton Hunt. He also leaves behind a great-grandchild, Carson Cribb, and his sister Jan (Bruce) Simpson of Apopka, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Katie and Tom Halker, and his brother Tim Halker.

In his younger years, David was an avid golfer, always ready for a round with friends or family. More recently, he found joy in RC aviation, becoming a devoted hobbyist who loved the challenge and camaraderie it offered. A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, David proudly sported the iconic green and gold—often paired with the orange and blue of his Florida Gators.

Above all, David was a family man. He followed every milestone, game, performance, and achievement of his children and grandchildren with unwavering pride. He also had a tender heart for the rescue dogs welcomed into the family over the years, especially his beloved “Miss Piggy.”

A visitation will be held on January 9th at Lucas Home Visitation. A funeral Mass will follow on January 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Colleyville, Texas, officiated by Father Zachary Burns.

David will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, his passions, and the deep love he carried for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
