Darrell Paul Baker

Darrell Paul Baker of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 72. He will always be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, and husband to all that knew and loved him. He was born on February 8, 1953 in Gladewater, Texas to Maynard and Opal Baker. Darrell’s father had a career in the army which took them to Taiwan and Japan while growing up. Darrell was an EMT with the Dallas Fire Department before enlisting in two tours in the army serving in Vietnam and Korea. Darrell met his wife Carol Baker in 1999 and married in April 2003.

Darrell’s hobbies included bowling, beta testing Microsoft products and playing pool on various amateur leagues.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Carol Baker, Ft Worth, Texas, sons; Mike Hunsinger of Loveland, Colorado and Jonathan Baker (Annie) of Evans, Colorado, Sarah (Andrew) Dale of Severance, Colorado; grandchildren, Hailey Baker of Pierre, South Dakota, Reese Wheeler of Severance, Colorado, Ryder Bell of Evans, Colorado, Owen Baker of Severance, Colorado, Paisley Palmer of Evans, Colorado, Harley Dale of Severance, Colorado, Lili Hunsinger of Loveland, Colorado, Audrey Sexson of Loveland, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents; Maynard and Opal Baker; brothers, David Baker and James Baker, his twin sisters Pearlene Long and Erlene Reibly.

The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, November 15th at 10 am at Shady Oaks Baptist Church, 1336 Cavender Drive, Hurst, Texas 76053.

In lieu of flower, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
