Darene Felia Maris Isley

December 9, 1949 — May 5, 2026

Crowley, TX

Darene Felia Maris Isley (Kline) was born December 9, 1949, to Melissa Pearl Kline (Childress) and Will Kline. She died May 5, 2026, in Crowley, Texas. Will was a seaman and named her as his daughter of the sea. He died when she was 14 years old and she grieved him throughout her life, regaling in the tales he told her as a child. She was raised in Santa Monica, California and graduated from Santa Monica High School. She was married November 8, 1969, in Rowland Heights, California at her sister Darlene’s house. She welcomed her beloved son Steven Isley the following year. She moved to Texas where she was near her mother until Pearl passed away. She was a doting single mother and was a committed employee of CKS Packaging until her retirement to ensure her son was cared for. She was a kind soul, dedicated to helping whoever she could, often collecting furniture or clothing items to donate to those in need. She was curious about the world, always asking for details about people or places or stories. Darene had a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was always active in the church. She was never afraid of dying because she knew she would be closer to Him.

She was saddened by the passing of her brothers, Don McConnell and Eddie Kline, and had a close relationship with her sister Darlene Moore until her passing. Recently, she happily filled her days with her dog Buddy and the company of her son Steven. He and dear friend Carol cared for her in her final days. She is survived by her son, and many loved ones through her siblings, including niece and namesake Cynthia Darene Benson, and great-niece Nicole. She will be missed greatly but her spirit lives strong with those who were lucky to know her.
