With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Curtis Colby Horn, 41, on January 26, 2026. While his family and friends struggle to understand this tremendous loss, they find comfort in the intentional way Colby lived each day.
Colby was born in Oklahoma City on September 3, 1984, to Barbara and Tom Horn. He moved to Highland Village, Texas, in 1993, where he played football and graduated from Marcus High School in 2003. He attended Angelo State University, where he met the love of his life, Jamie Lytle. Together, they transferred to and graduated from the University of North Texas in 2007. Colby and Jamie were married on August 16, 2008. Together, they welcomed three beautiful children in just four years: Slade, Finley, and Adler. Colby worked incredibly hard throughout his 20-year career to make an impact on both colleagues and clients. He obtained his CPA then practiced within audit and consulting. He was very proud to serve as a Partner and the National Market Leader - Commercial Services, at Weaver.
Colby approached life with dignity and purpose, dedicating himself to excellence in all endeavors. His training as an athlete and Eagle Scout permeated his approach to life. He was ambitious, determined, trustworthy, loyal, helpful, generous, and kind. Two things mattered most to Colby: his 17-year marriage to Jamie, characterized by love, deep friendship, mutual respect, and countless adventures; and his unwavering love and devotion to his three children. Being a good father was of utmost importance to him. He was an incredible husband and father.
Colby is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alton and Mary Horn. He is survived by his loving wife, Jamie, and their three children, Slade, Finley, and Adler; his father and step-mom, Tom and Debbie Horn, and his mother, Barbara Confer; his brother and sister-in-law, Casey and Mandi Horn; his grandparents, Curtis and Maxine Brown; and a large, loving extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
