With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cruz Quevedo Miranda, who departed this life on August 4, 2025, at the age of 86.
Cruz was born on May 1, 1939, in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. In pursuit of a better life and opportunities, Cruz built a life grounded in love, resilience, and family. On August 26, 1969, he married the love of his life, Rebecca Hernandez. Together, they shared over five decades of unwavering partnership, raising a beautiful family and building a legacy that will carry on for generations.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Cruz is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Hernandez Miranda; daughter Rebecca L. Willey and her husband Joseph D. Willey; sons Cruz R. Miranda, and Edward C. Miranda and his wife Tammy L. Staples. He was a proud grandfather to John A., Kelsie L. and Jesse, Andrew D. and Raiya, Michael J., Olivia M., and Anthony E., and a cherished great-grandfather to Kelsie and Jessie Schlueter and their children Madilyn, Emery, Beckham, with one more great-grandchild expected in September.
A lifelong and passionate Chicago Cubs fan, he found joy in baseball and often shared that love with his family, celebrating every win — and faithfully enduring every loss — with pride and spirit.
Cruz’s life was a testament to hard work, humility, and devotion to those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, integrity, and family values that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
