Constance Diane Allen-Bacon 88, of Grapevine, Texas, passed away on July 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, she slipped away peacefully in her sleep.
Connie was born February 22, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Juanita Arlene Dudley (Nelson) and Chester Howard Dudley. Connie graduated from High School in 1956, then went on to the University of Kansas, earning a Master’s degree in Anthropology. Later in life, she returned to school at the University of Arkansas earning a Master’s in Archaeology.
Connie married Lawrence Wright Allen fresh out of high school. They were married for 17 years. Later in life she met her soul mate, William Stevenson (Steve) Bacon and they lived happily together in Arizona until he passed.
Connie worked for both General Services Administration and the Social Security Administration. Later, she became an entrepreneur and ran a tour company doing archaeology and anthropology tours across Arizona and New Mexico.
Connie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Grapevine, Texas. She especially loved singing in the choir. Her second love was travel, she visited numerous archaeological sites in countries around the world including Greece, Egypt, China, and numerous countries in South America.
Remaining to cherish Connie’s memory are her two sons Mark Allen and Steven Allen and their wives, Celinda and Pam; grandchildren, Rachel Allen, Ashley Allen, Carissa Cornelius, Jennifer Hendrix and Alissa Allen ; great-grandchildren, Alex Cornelius, Jayden Hendrix, Katie Hendrix and Landon Hendrix.
