You Will Always Be Remembered

Collette Morrissey (Gordon) of Keller, Texas, died tragically in an automobile accident on June 2, 2026. Collette was born on October 10, 1953, to Jerome and Adelia Morrissey in Van Buren, Maine. Collette leaves behind a family she loved deeply and a legacy of humor, energy, and wholehearted living.

Collette and her husband, Ken, enjoyed an abiding friendship for 38 years, 33 of which they spent together in marriage. She loved her children, Ivie and Gregory, from the day they met to the day she suddenly left this world. To Collette, Jenna had also become a dear daughter. Collette was endlessly proud of them and delighted by the happiness they built in their lives.

Every day felt new and full of possibility to Collette. She greeted each day joyously with a hearty “Good morning,” always curious about what the day would bring. Recently, she spent many of those days landscaping and tackling maintenance projects with her friend, Cookie Roberts, who perished alongside Collette in the same accident. The two of them worked tirelessly at each other’s homes and at Cookie’s rental house, keeping things fun by alternating locations each day.

Collette also found joy in creating fused glass artwork with her friend and neighbor, Sandi Stefani. Collette’s artistic talent showed itself early when she painted a full‑wall mural in her childhood home as a youngster, and she continued exploring many creative outlets over the years, including stained glass.

She and Ken shared a passion for traveling. From India to Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, the mountains of the western United States, and many places beyond, exploring the world together was one of her greatest joys. They loved seeing and experiencing the world side by side, discovering the commonality of all people as well as diverse cultures and histories. Collette took so many wonderful photographs that her camera often ran out of battery power.

Her family and friends meant the world to her. She never missed a chance to play Bunco each month, kept up with the neighborhood group texts, and cherished every opportunity to spend time with the people she loved.

Collette is survived by her husband, Ken, and her children, Ivie and Greg (Jenna), she is also survived by all of her many siblings: Linda (Gary), Carolyn (Steve), Alyson (Marilyn), Rita, Mike (Tonya), Theresa (Scott), Clayton (Andrea), David (Jeanie), Donna (Steve), Mary, and Joyce (Rob). Collette is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Jeff (Paula), Sandy (Jeff), Jessica, Shawn, Jamie (Robert), Nikita (Andy), Jeremy, Kate (Rene), Jules, Elizabeth (Rikki), Robbie, Shayne (Sam), Shelby, Joyce, Sally, Sophie, and Xavier. In addition, Collette is survived by her great-nieces and -nephews Garrett, Chloe, Corbin, Conner, Branden, Charles, Camden, and Griffin, and her great-great-niece and -nephew Luke and Nora. Collette treasured her sister-in-law, Jan, and was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Adelia.
