Charles Wayne Wooten

It is with love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Charles Wayne Wooten, who passed July 26, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born on July 17, 1935, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Clyde and Mildred, Charlie was known for his intelligence, dedication and strength to those he loved. He attended Paschal high School before earning a degree in Chemical Engineering, a field that reflected both his sharp mind and strong work ethics. Charlie began a distinguished career with General Dynamics, where he worked 35 years before retiring.

 Outside of work, Charlie found great joy on the golf course. An avid golfer, he cherished the game not only for the challenge but the friendship and memories it created. His greatest blessing was his family. He had three children and 64 wonderful years of marriage to the love of his life, Evelyn, whose devotion was the foundation of a lifetime of memories. Evelyn proceeded him in death, and there is comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.

Charlie also shared a friendship with Brenda, whose kindness, companionship and support brought joy and comfort in his life.

Charle’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he shared and the memories that will be treasured for generations. He is survived by his brother, Larry Vandervort, his daughter and her husband, Pam and Kenny Ludwick, his son and his wife, Thomas and Rene Wooten, his daughter and her husband Jenise and John Bradley, his grandchildren, Chad Wooten, Amy Wooten and Jeon, Kendra Ludwick, and the great grandchildren, Brielle, Amari and Jaxon.
