Charles Wayne Lucas, 81, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at his home in Hurst, Texas.

Charles was born April 13, 1942, in Wharton, Texas, and spent most of his childhood in Lingleville, Texas. He grew up on a farm with his Father & Mother, Robert Loyd Lucas & Cecil (Beau) Eleanor Richards Lucas and eight brothers and sisters.

After high school, Charles served in the TX National Guard then enlisted in the United States Navy. While serving his country he met his wife, Janet Mary Weidner, in Bermuda in 1963 and married her in 1964. They built a life in Rochester, NY, bringing three sons, Stephen, James, & Richard, into the world. They later moved to Hurst, Texas, where they spent the remainder of his life. He was a Master Electrician for most of his working life.

Charles is survived by his wife, Janet Mary (Weidner) Lucas; sons, Stephen Wayne Lucas (Jacquelyn), James Robert Lucas (Theresa LaDuca), & Richard George Lucas (Joanna). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Brandon Lucas, Tanner Lucas, Madalyn Lucas Pinover (Tyler), Anastasia Lucas Morse, Joshua Lucas, Payton Lucas, & Christian Lucas. Additional survivors include his sisters, Leona Rogers (Earl), Mary Quarles (Marlin), & Judy Huston (Jim); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd & Beau Lucas; brothers, Richard Lucas, Burl Lucas, & Jimmie Lucas; sisters, Dottie Collins & Peggy Conger.
