Celso Duque Ortega, age 82 was born on April 6, 1944, in Pasay City - Manila, Philippines to Juan and Rosario Ortega. He was a devoted father, family man, proud United States Navy veteran, and friend to many. He passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, in Plano, TX with his family by his side, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and selfless service.
For 22 years, Celso honorably served in the United States Navy, dedicating his life to serving his country with integrity, courage, and unwavering commitment. His years in the Navy reflected the values he carried throughout his life and passed down to his children and grandchildren: discipline, honor, compassion, and sacrifice.
Above all, Celso will be remembered for the gentle way he lived. He was a selfless, kind-hearted man who always placed the needs of others before his own. His quiet strength, warm smile, and generous spirit brought comfort to everyone fortunate to know him.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Merle; children, Marilou, Mia, Katherine, and Jonathan; Grandchildren, Vincent, Dominick, Abigail, and Liv. As well as his siblings; Dr. Ben, Amy, Nina, and Juan Jr.
