Obituary

Catherine (Cathy) Hardin Lang, of Fort Worth, Texas, after yearning to be home again for many days, passed away on October 8, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and colleague, to all that knew and loved her. She was born on November 5, 1949, along with her twin sister, Connie, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Richmond Lee Hardin and Jean Artie Hardin (nee Rasco). 

Cathy spent the first 50 years of her life in Corpus Christi, Texas, graduating in 1968 from W.B. Ray High School, after going to Sam Houston Elementary and Baker Junior High School. Cathy earned an Associate in Arts degree from Del Mar College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with Highest Honors from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.

Cathy married Dennis Lang on January 2, 1971. She is the loving mother of three children: Amy, Emily, and Peter. Professionally, Cathy served at Parkdale Baptist School including as pre-school teacher, and as an elementary school teacher at Kostoryz Elementary School, both in Corpus Christi. In December of 2000, Cathy moved with Dennis to Fort Worth. Cathy taught Kindergarten at Green Valley Elementary and Northridge Elementary School, both in Birdville I.S.D. Cathy retired from teaching in May of 2009. She spent her retirement years spending time with family, grandchildren, and enjoying quilting and sewing. Throughout her life, Cathy served in various ways in church, seeking ways her spiritual gifts could benefit the church body. Most recently, Cathy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Keller. 

Cathy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dennis Lang; Sister, Jenny Hammer, of Uvalde, Texas; Twin Sister, Constance (Connie) Harrison (Jim), of College Station, Texas; Brother, Rick Hardin (Shirley), of Corpus Christi, Texas; Daughter, Amelia Trevino (Luis), of Flower Mound, Texas; Daughter, Emily Barba (Tim), of Flower Mound, Texas; Son, Peter Lang, of Fort Worth, Texas; Sister-in-law, Joycelyn Carrell, of Phenix City, Alabama; Grandchildren (7), Cole Barba (Sicilia), of San Clemente, California; Sean Barba, of Flower Mound, Texas; Troy Barba, of Flower Mound, Texas; Luke Barba, of Flower Mound, Texas; Victoria Trevino, of Flower Mound, Texas; Neil Trevino, of Flower Mound, Texas; Julianna Trevino, of Flower Mound, Texas;Great Grandson, Liam Ash Barba, of San Clemente, California; nieces, nephews, and lots of friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her parents R.L. and Jean Hardin.
