Carolyn Sue Faulkner, 78 years old, died very unexpectedly at her home in Southlake, Texas on Monday, July 20, 2026 of heart failure. She was born in Fort Worth on July 30, 1947 to Mary Francis and Edward H. Raymond. She was raised in Fort Worth, graduating from Paschal High School.
On March 6, 1971, she married Barry Faulkner in Fort Worth. Their marriage lasted 55 years. Most of that time they lived in Houston.
She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the mother of 2 (Melodie and Christopher), grandmother of 5 (Faith, Bethany, Andrew, Paris, and Roman), and great-grandmother of 2 (Julia and Rocky). Rocky was born 4 days before her death. She was very devoted to her grandchildren. She always called them on their birthdays and sang Happy Birthday to them.
She loved to travel. She and her husband traveled the world by plane, train, car, bus, cruise ship and river boat in Europe, Africa, Russia, Middle East, Central & South America, and the Far East. She traveled to 49 countries . Her favorite place was the Hawaiian Islands, which she visited 6 times.
Over the years, she volunteered in numerous organizations, especially her church. She also did lots of handicraft and art projects. She shared life, celebrations, volunteering, and travel with her numerous girl friends. She was a devoted Christian.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Eddie Raymond.
She is survived by husband Barry Faulkner, daughter Melodie Miller, son Christopher Faulkner, sister-in-law Doris Raymond, numerous in-laws, cousins, friends, and the above named grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A religious Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 14, 2026 in Grace Chapel at White’s Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas. A reception will be held at the church following the memorial service.
The family invites those who wish to honor Carolyn's memory to consider a memorial donation to the Lakewood Methodist Church Permanent Endowment Fund.
