Carol Ann Hertel

Carol Ann Hertel, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Crowley, Texas. Born Carol Ann Roller on October 8, 1934, in Buffalo, New York, she lived a life marked by devotion to family and community, embodying the warmth and kindness that defined her as a sweet wife, mother, and grandmother.

Carol dedicated much of her professional life to serving others as an Activities Director for a nursing home. In this role, she was known not only for her organizational talents but also for the compassion and heartfelt care she showed to those she served. Her work positively impacted many lives, reflecting her deep empathy and commitment to enhancing the well-being of her community's elders.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Jr., Steve, and David; her grandchildren Ryan Cross, Hailey Cross, Trevor Cross, Joseph Hertel, Shawn Hertel, Michael Hertel, and David Austin Hertel; as well as her great-grandchildren Diana Hertel and Zeplynn Hertel. Carol’s family will fondly remember her strength, love, and the nurturing spirit she brought to every gathering.

Carol’s life was framed by the loving relationships she cherished. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald J. Hertel Sr., her daughters Susan and Peggy, her parents Charles and Lillian Roller, her sisters Joan Meredith and Norma Cortelluci, and her daughter-in-law Theressa Hertel.

A Graveside Service honoring Carol's life will be held on May 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Burleson Memorial Cemetery, located at 490 Memorial Plaza in Burleson, Texas. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Carol are invited to attend.
