Carol Jean Gibson was born on May 30,1949 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Eugene Blake and Dorothy Jaskol, she was the oldest of four children. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all that knew and loved her.
Carol was a graduate from Barrington High School and pursued higher education studies at Loyola University, Florida International University and Texas Christian University. At the age of 56, she finally achieved her life goal of receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
She spent most of her career working for Motorola’s Paging Products Group as a communications specialist for almost 30 years. During that time, she was most proud of touring foreign visitors and dignitaries from all around the world and received many awards for her dedication and efforts. In her private life, Carol will be remembered as being dedicated to her Catholic faith, an animal lover and having a passion for travel.
Carol is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Kimberly Ramstedt, her daughter and son-in-law, Roseanne and Todd Bartley, her sister and brother-in-law Nancy & Jerry Berger, sister Mary Reyes, brother and sister-in-law Gene & Ruthann Blake, her niece Stephanie Aducci and nephews Earl Harris, Justin Blake and Austin Reyes. Carol was also a proud and loving grandmother to five grandchildren: Rachel Ramstedt, Abigail Ramstedt, Peter Ramstedt Jr, Hannah Ramstedt and Jonalyn Vifah.
Carol was proceeded in death by her sons Scott Anthony Gibson and Jonathan Patrick Gibson, whose memories she always carried close to her heart.
A victim of dementia for the last 7 years, she passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025 in Rowlett, Texas.
The family will receive guests from 5pm – 7pm on October 2, 2025 at Lucas Funeral Home, located at 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, TX 76053. The Funeral Service and Rosary will begin the following day at 3pm on October 3, 2025 also at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, TX. Interment will follow the Funeral Service at Bear Creek Cemetery.
