Carlos Juan Morales De Gracia was born on April 13, 1947, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Carlos Juan Morales and Iris De Gracia. He went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2026, in Euless, Texas, surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, encouragement, and wisdom that will guide future generations.
Carlos grew up in Puerto Rico as an only child, surrounded by friends, family, and music that would shape the man he became. From a young age, he developed a deep love for instruments, especially percussion. In his late teens during the early 1960s, he joined a band called The Teen Sounds, where he proudly played the drums and shared his musical talent with others.
On December 23, 1966, Carlos married the love of his life, Maria Emilia Roussel (Marilyn), in Puerto Nuevo, Puerto Rico. The two met in middle school, and their relationship grew into a lifelong marriage rooted in faith, family, and enduring love.
He pursued his higher education at the Universidad de Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He later continued his studies at the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, earning his master’s degree in Supervision and Administration. During this season of life, Carlos and Marilyn began building their family and raised their children, Carlos Alfredo Morales, Mariemie Morales, and Joel Daniel Morales, in Río Piedras.
In 1984, his dedication and strong work ethic led to a promotion that brought the family to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He built a successful career with IBM, where he worked for approximately 20 years, and later contributed his expertise to companies such as Ericsson, Nortel, and Open Connect. In 2004, he joined the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), where he continued to serve with excellence while remaining deeply committed to his faith.
Carlos was known for his wisdom, sense of humor, and generous spirit. He had a special ability to offer guidance and encouragement, always making others feel supported and valued. His life was centered on his faith in Jesus Christ and his deep love for his family. He was a devoted husband, an exceptional father, and a proud grandfather. He was also an aviation enthusiast who spent many hours learning about flying, a passion he truly enjoyed.
One of Carlos’s greatest joys was being a grandfather. He cherished every moment with his grandchildren: Kyler William Burrough, Sterling Alexander Burrough, Matthias Daniel Morales, Juliana Aurora Morales, and Carla Andrea Morales.
As we remember him, we hold close the lessons he taught, the guidance he gave, and the love he shared so freely. His faith, strength, and kindness will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” — Isaiah 41:10
