Carl Ray Carlile, 84, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. He was born on August 31, 1941 in Stamford, Texas, where he was raised and spent his early years.

Carl attended North Texas State in Denton, Texas and later earned his degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas. He went on to build a long and respected career in the energy industry working for ExxonMobil and later Tesoro Land & Marine. Throughout his career he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability and the respect he earned from those who worked alongside him.

Later in life, Carl followed his love for the land and the western way of life. He embraced the ranch and rodeo lifestyle and spent several years building custom homes primarily in Justin, Texas. He was known for his great sense of humor and his endless collection of stories. He also loved sports and enjoyed spending time on the golf course, one of his favorite pastimes.

Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife Maureen Carlile; his daughter and son-in-law, Camille and Billy Corley; his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Erin Carlile; and his seven grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Mitchell, Michael, Christopher, Jacob and Jordan. He was also the proud great-grandfather of twelve great-grandchildren.

Carl will be remembered for his warm spirit, quick wit, and the deep love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
