Bruce Lee Barr, born August 8, 1937, in Philadelphia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026. The beloved son of Emory Decatur Barr and Mollie Kate Barr, Bruce grew up on the family dairy farm, where he learned the values of perseverance, humility, and service that shaped his life.

Bruce grew up attending the United Methodist New Hope Church in Philadelphia and carried his faith with him through every chapter of his journey. After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, he became a dedicated small business owner. His path later led him to South Carolina, where he became a Free Mason and contributed his skills to government submarine projects—work he approached with the same sense of duty that guided him throughout his life.

Bruce is survived by his two children, Leslie Ellen Whitwell and Lee Alan Barr. He was a devoted son, honoring his parents’ memory through the way he lived and the values he upheld.

Those who knew Bruce will remember his passion for golfing, his fondness for fast cars, and the steady, good humored presence he brought to every room. His legacy is one of service, craftsmanship, and quiet strength.
