Blanca Dori Vega, our cherished mother and grandmother, departed this life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 89. Born on January 6, 1935, in Manati, Puerto Rico, she moved to New York in 1951, where she met her beloved husband, Alejo Villanueva, marrying him on June 23, 1952. Blanca returned to Puerto Rico in 1970, where she lived until 2019 before moving to Texas. Renowned for her infectious laughter and vivacious spirit, she was the life of every gathering, finding joy in dancing to Salsa and Merengue. Her enduring feistiness, strong will, and nurturing nature will be remembered, as she was the matriarch of the family, leaving behind an inspiring legacy for us to honor.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Alejo Villanueva; her mother, Josefa Vega Sierra; her aunt, Maria "Lola" Dolores Vega Sierra; her brothers, Carlos Burgos Vega and Rafael Burgos Vega; and her sister, Luz Maria Burgos Vanga.
