Betty Lou Webb Crane, loving wife of LeRoy Crane, devoted mother to LaDonna and Laurie; and grandmother to Grant, Grayson and Lance passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Euless, Texas.
Betty was born on October 20, 1942, in Henreitta, Texas to Grace Mae Campbell and Joel Winston Webb. Betty grew up in Dallas and attended North Dallas High School. During her formative years, Betty’s family attended Mapel Lawn Baptist Church and were extremely active members. The Webb family served in various capacities such as Sunday School teacher, piano player and usher. It was during this time that a foundation of service to others was formed in Betty’s life.
Betty met the love of her life, LeRoy Crane early 1961. She and LeRoy were married on December 23, 1961, at Mapel Lawn Baptist Church. The two moved to Irving, Texas and welcomed their first daughter, LaDonna in May, 1963 and Laurie was born in June, 1965. They raised their family in Irving. Betty was again active in her church as the piano player as well as her children’s lives.
Over the course of her life, Betty held various jobs in the Accounting/Bookkeeping Departments; but her true priorities were God, her family and her friends. Betty had a servant’s heart and would do anything she could for someone else. She was far more concerned about you, your family and what was going on with you; than she was herself. If you were Betty’s friend; you were her family. There was always room for one more at her house, her table, or in her life. She was the first one to welcome anyone new and make them feel welcome. During her retirement years, the circle of friends at Parc Place became a new family for Betty to take care of. She loved her Rubi cube and Canasta groups as well as the Sunday School class at Crossroads Church.
Betty is survived in death by her daughter LaDonna, husband Joel Ross, Laurie, husband Scott Gillespie, and three grandsons - Grant Gillespie, Grayson Ross and Lance Gillespie. She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Crane, her parents, Grace and Joel Webb, sister Martha Hearon and brothers Bud Webb and Bobby Webb and a host of beloved Webb/Campbell cousins.
Betty will be laid to rest at DFW National Cemetery on October 2 at 10:15 and a celebration of life service will follow at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, TX at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Family Legacy Missions.
