Beryl Stodghill

Beryl Stodghill of Euless, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, in Bedford, Texas. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend to all who knew and loved him.

Born on December 12, 1940, in Mart, Texas, to Owen and Margaret Stodghill, Beryl grew up in Waco before moving to the Mid-Cities area in the late 1960s. Through determination and hard work, he built a life as a self-employed businessman and self-taught farmer. He was happiest outdoors and could often be found riding his lawn mower, driving a big truck, baling hay, or tending to his herd. At other times, he could be found relaxing in his chair, laughing and savoring the simple joys of life. His warmth, humor, and appreciation for each day will be deeply missed.

Beryl is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Linda Lee Stodghill of Euless, Texas; his brothers, David Wayne Stodghill and Ronnie Joe Stodghill; his sister, Martha Terry; his son, Danny Paul Fletcher; his daughter, Paula Hanstad (husband, Ed Hanstad); and daughter-in-law, Anita Stodghill. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Margaret Stodghill; his brother, Owen Stodghill Jr.; his sisters, Betsy Louise Toia and Eva Bob Lewellan; his daughter, Sue Stodghill; and his son, George Stodghill. Their memories remained a treasured part of his life.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas 76053. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Boulevard, Colleyville, Texas 76034.

Though Beryl’s presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. May his family and friends find comfort in knowing that a life so dearly loved leaves a legacy that time can never erase.
