Bernice Adele Pennington, born on April 11, 1929, in Minot, North Dakota, departed this world peacefully in her home on December 24, 2024, at the age of 95. Her journey through life was marked by faith, love, and an unwavering commitment to her family and her church, where she served diligently throughout her lifetime.
Bernice, known affectionately by many as a prayer warrior, had a profound belief in the power of prayer. She dedicated her life to praying for her family and her church family, whose lives she touched with her unconditional love and support. The reverberations of her faith will be felt for years to come, as her prayers and kindness remain a cherished memory for those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Joe Pennington, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Her parents, Floyd and Minnie Rumann, as well as her sisters, Edith (JCC) Callaway and Leola (Clark) Andresen, and her brother, Richard (Ruth) Rumann. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her great-niece, infant Janna Rumann.
Bernice leaves behind a legacy of love and connection through her many nieces and nephews, along with great and great-great-nieces and nephews, who will remember her warmth and devotion.
The memorial service to honor Bernice's life will be held on April 26, 2025, at the Lucas Funeral Home in Burleson, Texas, commencing at 11:00 AM. This gathering will serve as a testament to a life well-lived, celebrating her faith, her family, and the countless lives she inspired with her spirit and love.
