Bernhard Theodor Homann, of Mequon, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at the age of 88 in Southlake, Texas. He was born on January 8, 1937, in Bottrop, Germany, to Bernhard and Elizabeth Homann (née Peters).
He was heavily influenced by his childhood and the challenges he faced growing up in post-World War II Germany. He was a master stone mason and served in the German Federal Police. In 1962, Bernhard immigrated to the United States, where he and his then-wife, Hildegard Homann (née Bullmann), built a thriving construction and development business. Known for his sharp mind, business sense and zest for life, Bernhard was an active member of the Vagabond Social Club. He found joy in traveling, spirited political debates, tennis, pickle ball and dancing.
He is survived by his ex-wife Hildegard; his children, Eric Homann, Thomas (Jennifer) Homann, and Elizabeth (Patrick) Schoepel; and his beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Nickalaus, Oliver, and Katherine.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gerti Pawlak and Hermann Homann, and his longtime partner, Patricia Morton.
