Benton Alexander “Benny” Coursey, 25, of Keller, passed away October 11, 2025 in Dallas.
Benny was born July 10, 2000 to Larry and Judith Coursey in Arlington, Texas. He lived his life with a generous spirit and a steady, grounded presence that comforted those around him. Thoughtful and quiet at first, he was quick to open up with warmth, humor, and that unforgettable smile once you knew him.
Benny loved spending time outdoors and could often be found fishing at his favorite spots, working on his golf swing, or playing pickleball with friends. He was also an avid gamer who cherished the laughter, connection, and friendly competition shared with his friends and family.
A proud graduate of Keller High School, Benny continued his education at Texas Tech University before following his calling into nursing. He earned his RN and was dedicated to his work at Medical City of Arlington, where he cared deeply for his patients and colleagues. His exceptional kindness and commitment to compassionate care are being honored with the prestigious Daisy Award, an international recognition celebrating extraordinary nurses.
Benny had a huge heart — and that generosity continues even after his passing. As an organ donor, he gave others the gift of more time, a final act that reflects exactly who he was.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents Larry Coursey and Judith Coursey, siblings; Blake Coursey, Shonita Ingram and husband Chad, Dominique Lucero and wife Esmi, Leticia Duarte Coursey, Andre Coursey and wife Maru, Laura Cope and husband Zachary Austin and James Cope and wife Adrian and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Benton was preceded in death by his grandparents Lewis Graves, Marie Milton and Joseph and Phyllis Lezniak.
