Funeral services for Beatrice C. Martin (83), of Haslet, will be held Thursday February 19th at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00am. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will take place the following day February 20th at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas at 9:00am.
Beatrice passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in Fort Worth. She was born April 17, 1942, to Leslie Athrel Kelly and Nina Earline Christopher in Starkville, Mississippi.
Beatrice lived a full and vibrant life centered around her family, faith, and community. She was a devoted mother that gave selflessly of her time. She was always there, ever present. If you needed her and wanted her she was there for her children. She devoted time to volunteering at school and local hospitals, where her compassion and kindness touched many lives. Later in life she enjoyed traveling to new places and always had a garden of some sort. She enjoyed watching game shows, In her later years, Beatrice developed a strong interest in politics and enjoyed staying informed and engaged. Sometimes too engaged. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Greg Lyon and wife Gina, and David Grandstaff and wife Shelley; her daughters, Gina Lyon and Deanna Mahurin and husband Allen; her brothers, Jim Kelly and wife Ute, Ralph Kelly and wife Virginia, and Larry Kelly and wife Lynn; her sisters, Linda Kelly and Patsy Kelly; and her beloved grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Martin; her brother, Bill Kelly; and her sisters, Marlene Carter and Elaine Mangum.
Beatrice will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit, and the joy she brought to those who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her family and all who were blessed to share in her life.
