Barbara Ann Sampson, 87, of Keller, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Lewisville. She was born on February 9, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, to Samuel and Ada Starnes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. She will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday evening, August 24, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Barbara lived her life centered on her faith and her family. She cherished her church and her walk with the Lord, and her warm spirit was felt by everyone around her. She found happiness in the simple things—reading a good book, birdwatching (especially when cardinals visited her yard), and sharing her love through cooking, most often with her delicious pies. Her greatest joy was having her family together, filling her home with love, laughter, and memories. Always drawn to her favorite color, pink, Barbara carried a brightness and gentleness that reflected her heart.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: J.C. Sampson and wife Nancy Ann, Jeff Sampson, Sherri Witty and husband Bryan, and Nancy Erwin and husband Trent. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Aaron Moss and wife Jessica, Greg Moss and wife Shelly, Chad Moss and wife Kim, Taylor Moss, Doug Witty and wife Kalinda, Dewayne Witty, David Witty and wife Trisha, Evan Sampson, Zach Sampson and wife Sara, Eric Erwin and wife Ashley, Austin Erwin, Ellie Sampson, and Emi Sampson. Barbara’s memory will also live on in her great-grandchildren: Dylan, Ben, and Nate Moss; Mason, Hudson, Wyatt, Sailor, and Ellyson Witty; Sloane Sampson; and Jaxon, Scarlett, and Quinn Erwin.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.C. Sampson Sr., her daughter Ann Harbour, and her brother Roy Lee Starnes.
Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, her faith, and her love of family—a legacy that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
