Barbara Jean Cox, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and dedicated nurse, passed away on November 13, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 60. Born on March 16, 1964, in Dallas, Texas to Mary and Larry Lay, Barbara spent her life creating cherished memories with her loved ones.
Barbara obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from San Angelo State University and dedicated 40 years to serving others in the healthcare field. On November 12, 1994, she married the love of her life, Paul Cox, with whom she raised a son, Kyle. Barbara's devotion to her family was unparalleled, and her kindness and compassion touched all those around her.
In her free time, Barbara enjoyed sports, bowling, gardening, and caring for her beloved cats. She found joy in the simple moments of life and always had a smile to share with those she met.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Paul Cox; her cherished son, Kyle Cox; her mother, May Lay; and her sister, Tricia with her husband, Jamail Filat; and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation and reception to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas on November 21, 2024 from 3-5 o'clock p.m.
Barbara's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a lasting impact on all who had the honor of crossing paths with her.
