Barbara Mary Barnes Hause, 82, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, and love.Born on May 21, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, Barbara was the daughter of Harold Pierpont “Jack” Barnes and Mary Margaret Barnes, she lived a life defined by her love for her family and the relationships she built throughout her life.

 Barbara was truly one of a kind. A dedicated educator, she found purpose in teaching and took pride in the difference she made in the lives of her students. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, and a gift for making people laugh. Living all over the world with her husband Dean, they both enjoyed the opportunity to travel, experiencing different places and cultures. And whether she and Dean were spending time with family, fishing in Rockport, playing a competitive game of Aggravation, or trying her luck at the casino,

 Barbara always knew how to have a good time.She especially loved slot machines and Keno, a good rum and Pepsi, and sharing laughs with the people she loved. Her playful personality was unforgettable, especially her habit of shouting “SEX!” instead of “cheese” whenever someone took a picture. That was Barbara. She was always ready to make everyone laugh and never afraid to be herself.Rockport held a special place in her heart. She loved being near the water, fishing, relaxing, and enjoying time with family.

 Those moments created memories that her loved ones will treasure forever.Above all, Barbara loved her family. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories. Her family will remember her humor, her spirit, and the countless stories that will continue to be told for generations.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Sharon Zabloski and Lisa Hause and her wife, Rachael Treadwell; her stepson, Barry Hause and his wife, Marianne; her grandchildren, Daniel Hause and his wife, Phelan, Josh Hause, Braden Zabloski, and Landon Zabloski; her great-grandson, Magnus Hause; and her sister, Nancy Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dean Hause; her parents, Harold Pierpont “Jack” Barnes and Mary Margaret Barnes; and her sister, Patricia Marunde.Barbara's laughter, love, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
