Ann Dixon Meier

October 14, 1939 — October 25, 2025

Hurst

Ann Dixon Meier, of Hurst, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on October 25, 2025, at the age of 86. She will be forever cherished as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who had the joy of knowing her.

Born on October 14, 1939, in Crush, Texas, to Ben F. Dixon and Nadine LaVerl Dixon, Ann brought light and laughter wherever she went. Her cheerful spirit, quick wit, and warm smile made everyone feel instantly at ease—she truly never met a stranger.

Ann lived her life with grace, humility, and a deep love for others. She was a steady presence offering support, lifting spirits, and embracing everyone around her with kindness and understanding. As one of her dearest friends shared, Ann had a remarkable ability to forgive and move forward with empathy and compassion.

Whether she was camping in Alaska to be by her husband Bill’s side on a hunting trip or preparing a standing rib roast in a tiny camper oven at the family lease, Ann gave of herself with joy and humor. She had a way of making every moment special and every gathering feel like home. Ann had a true gift for hospitality, especially through her cooking. She poured love into every meal she made, and her kitchen was a place where laughter was shared and stories were told. Anyone lucky enough to sit at her table left with a full belly and a warm heart.

A proud Texan, Ann loved her state and its people. She was a lifelong Texas Longhorns fan and actively involved in public service. Her husband, Bill Meier, served in the Texas Senate representing Tarrant County, and Ann worked as an assistant to the Texas Lieutenant Governor. Later, Bill served as a justice on the Second District Court of Appeals in Texas and Ann was the backbone of his campaign, offering unwavering support throughout his legal and political career. Ann was an active member of the Tarrant County Republican Women’s Club and was recognized for her outstanding service by the Texas Federation of Republican Women, an honor that reflected her lifelong dedication to civic engagement and leadership.

Ann’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and prayed daily for her family and friends. Her unwavering belief brings comfort to those she leaves behind, knowing she is now reunited with loved ones who went before her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Meier of Hurst, Texas; her son, Jon Curlee of San Marcos, Texas; her brother, Mark (Betty) Dixon of Irving, Texas; her stepchildren, Josh (Ellena) Meier of Keller, Texas, and Shelly (Mo) Cross of Grand Prairie, Texas; and her grandchildren, Samantha Curlee and Lilly Curlee of Southlake, Texas; William Meier, Weston Meier, and Wayden Meier of Keller, Texas; and Mason Fresh and Carson Gazalski of Grand Prairie, Texas.
