Obituary

Born to his mother, Adra Belle Smith, and father, Albert Lee Sr., Albert Lee Jr. was born on June 11, 1947, in Batesville, Mississippi. From the very beginning, he lived a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

At the age of 18, Albert answered the call to serve his country when he was drafted into the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served during the Vietnam War from May 1966 through September 1969. Following his active-duty service, he transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve, where he continued to serve until he was honorably discharged in May 1972.

During his time in the Marine Corps, Albert’s bravery, dedication, and service to his country were recognized through six military honors: the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Aircrew Insignia, Air Medal (First Award), and Presidential Unit Citation.

In 1971, Albert moved to Los Angeles, California, where he met his wife and longtime partner, Regina. Their love story began with a chance meeting while Albert was working at a convenience store on the corner. What began as a passing encounter blossomed into a lifelong love and partnership.

In July 1973, Albert and Regina expanded their family when they welcomed their daughter, Shawanna. Ten years later, in March 1983, they welcomed their son, Brian. Together, Albert and Regina built a family and a home filled with love, dedication, and memories that would last a lifetime.

As the patriarch of his family, Albert spent his years caring for his wife and the family he built, always making sure that no one was in need. From taking care of household chores to managing the family’s finances and being there whenever his loved ones needed him, Albert embodied what it meant to be a provider, protector, and devoted husband and father. He took pride in his responsibilities and was a constant source of strength for his family.

Unfortunately, Albert’s health took a turn for the worse when he suffered a stroke in 2011, which affected his mobility and prevented him from being as active as he once was. For the next 15 years, Albert continued to fight and face the challenges that came with his health. Despite those challenges, he remained the man of his household and continued to love, support, and care for his family in every way he could. His strength and determination throughout those years were a testament to the resilient man he had always been.

Albert Lee Jr. completed his earthly journey on August 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, love, and unforgettable memories. His presence brought strength and comfort to those around him, and his love for his family will continue to live on through the generations.

Albert was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Adra Belle Smith and Albert Lee Sr., and his siblings: Willie M. Mackey, Willie Leigh, Clara Holmes, Thomas Henry Ellis, and John Lee.

He leaves to cherish and continue the legacy he created his beloved wife, Regina Lee; his children, Shawanna Lee, Daphne Neal, and Brian Lee Sr.; his grandchildren, Amber Neal, Ambrois Neal Jr., Allanah Boone, Alyssa Harris, Brian Lee Jr., Anaya Harris, and Damien Lee; his siblings, Robert Eugene Lee, George Leslie Lee, Hazel Lee Glover, Joyce Ann Lee Phillips, Janace Lee, and Sidney Lee Miller; and his great-grandchildren, Kelly Neal, Marcus Bernard Jr., and Ambrois Neal III.

Though Albert has completed his earthly journey, his love, laughter, strength, and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy will continue through his family, the lives he touched, and the generations that came after him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
