Aaron Lee Terry

Aug 29, 1982 — Oct 28, 2026

Abilene

On October 28, 2026, the world lost a truly one-of-a-kind soul when Aaron Lee Terry passed away unexpectedly from complications after open-heart surgery in Abilene, Texas, at the age of 44.

Aaron was born on August 29, 1982 in North Richland Hills, Texas, to Michael and Linda Terry.

He grew up in Hurst,Tx and graduated from L.D. Bell high school in 2000.

Aaron was many things throughout his life: a son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin, friend, mentor, and encourager. Like all of us, he was imperfect. He faced struggles that often made life difficult, not only for himself but also for the people who loved him most. Yet even in the midst of his own battles, Aaron never lost his ability to care deeply about others. He loved going to the gym to work out.

In recent years, Aaron became an important part of the recovery community in Abilene. He sponsored others, gave rides to those in need, offered encouragement to countless people working toward sobriety, and led an exercise group at the Serenity House sober living facility that he affectionately called "Band Camp" because of the resistance bands he used in class. Since his passing, story after story has emerged from people whose lives were changed because Aaron showed up for them when they needed someone most. Those who knew Aaron best understood that he had a gift for connecting with people who were struggling because he understood struggle himself. His compassion was hard-earned. His kindness was genuine. His impact on others will continue long after his passing. He loved deeply and was deeply loved.

He is survived by parents, Mike and Linda Terry; brother, Brian Terry; sister, Kristen Terry; grandparents, Calvin and Ann Kersh; nephews, Cooper and Chase Terry; aunt, Nancy Morrison; uncle, Mark Whitney; and numerous cousins, including Shawnya Canfield, Brittney Munson, Jerry Morrison, Mitchell Whitney, and Amber Velasquez, along with many cherished friends and members of the recovery community whom he considered family.

Preceded in death by grandparents Joe and Joann Morrison, cousin Ricky Morrison, uncle Ernest Terry III, and aunt Vickie Seymour.

Aaron leaves behind countless memories, stories, laughs, unanswered questions, and lives that are undeniably better because he was part of them. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the impact he made will not be forgotten.
