Sri Murni Susilawati

November 12, 1924 - January 26, 2022

Mrs. Kho Yauw Lam “Oey Mo Tan”, was born in Banjarnegara, Indonesia November 12, 1924. She was the 5th born of 14 children and was married to Kho Yauw Lam in April 1953. Creative and talented, as a youth she expressed her gift through working with her hands. She developed these skills while attending the homemaking school for girls. She was also a very successful woman in areas outside of homemaking. She understood real estate and was very successful in this arena. She always gave praise to God for blessing her in this endeavor. In Indonesia she began attending Church and along with her husband developed a lifelong commitment to the Lord and the church. In Canada in 1981 she professed her faith to serve Jesus Christ for all the days of her life. Along with her husband and others, they formed the Indonesian Christian Church of Canada where she worshipped faithfully until her passing. Tante Mo Tan was an active member at the Indonesian Christian Church in Toronto, Canada. Her service was on display in the ministries of hospitality, visitation and compassion. Many people, through her service, were touched tenderly by her generous spirit and pleasant personality. She loved a home and garden filled with flowers and the beauty she saw in nature was a reflection of Christ’s majesty in creating this world of wonders. She left this “Eden” and went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 26, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. Her beautiful life will forever live on in the hearts of her children: Kiki Kartono (Paul Warburton), Edward Kho (Mimi); 2 grandchildren, Naomi and Nicholas Kho.
