Shirley Brady

January 10, 1932 - January 19, 2022

Shirley JoAnn Brady was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She left this world peacefully at her home on January 19, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born to Ralph and Kathryn (Lippert) Borchers on January 10, 1932 and was raised on the family farm in Wallingford, Iowa. After graduating from high school she attended Iowa Lutheran Nursing School. Her career as a Registered Nurse reached from Iowa to Texas and gave her a lifetime of fulfilment and purpose. Shirley met the love of her life, Robert Brady in high school and they were married in Kansas City in 1955. There they raised their family and she was devoted to all aspects of her children’s lives. She gave generously of her time and commitment to her family, friends, organizations and community. When Bob’s career brought them to Texas in 1978 she again built a foundation of home and family where she treasured time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Bedford, Texas she found fellowship and friends that supported her faithfully. Shirley was happiest in the garden tending to her flowers, finding joy in every bloom. She loved activities at the Bedford Senior Center and spent many hours dancing, making ceramics, playing dominos and shouting Bingo. Shirley would proudly tell you that she had a BLESSED life. She was survived by her children; John Brady, Rosanne (Kevin) Taylor, James (Terry) Brady, Gerald (Kelly) Brady and Kathy (Joe) Miller. Grandchildren; Rose Aleen (Mike) Wolf, Jesse (Kara) Brady, Trenton (Lauren) Taylor, Mathew (Abby) Miller, Connor (Shannon) Taylor, Jeremiah Brady, Sean (Shannon) Brady, Sarah Brady, Pat (Jordan) Brady. Great Grandchildren; Palmer Brady, Elise Brady, Warren Brady, Ellie Taylor and Casey Taylor. In-Laws; Emmett (Shirley) Brady, Sheila (Charlie) Kuestersteffen, Joyce Borchers. She was proceeded in death by; parents, Ralph and Kathryn (Lippert) Borchers, husband Robert F. Brady, infant son Joseph Brady, brother Romaine Borchers, In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Heart Association.
