Peggy Jean Gentry "Bams" Akers

April 27, 1939 - April 5, 2022

PEGGY JEAN GENTRY (BAMS) AKERS Peggy was born on April 27, 1939 in Ranger TX. to Lynn Henry and Essie Lucille Lee Gentry. She passed from this walk of life on April 5, 2022 in Fort Worth. She was a 1959 graduate from Ranger High School. She married Jack Allon Akers on July 25, 1956 in Eastland County, TX. She was affectionately known by her family as “Bams.” She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sandra Gentry on May 17, 1996 and Gwendolyn Campbell on April 27, 2018; and one brother, Ollin Doyle Gentry on May 7, 2002. “Bams” is survived by, her husband of 65 years: Jack Allon Akers of Hurst, TX; daughters, Janice Lynn Fawks and husband, Kevin of Dallas, TX; Karen Kay Johnson and husband, Lance of Southlake, TX, and Jennifer Jean Bunch and husband, Jay of Hurst, TX; grandchildren, Brandy Cookston and husband, Eric of Hurst, TX, Brittney Nicole Martini of Springtown, TX, Gentry Paul Williams and wife, Mary of Bedford, TX, Amanda Kay Anderson of Southlake, TX, Dylan Ross Fry of Hurst, TX, Derek Jay Bunch and wife, Amanda of Hurst, TX, and Brooklynn Christine Bunch of Hurst, TX; great-grandchildren, Erik Floyd of Springtown TX, Anthony Martini of Fort Worth, TX, Haylee Lynn Cookston of Hurst, TX, Breezy Cookston of Hurst, TX, Blake Jack Cookston of Hurst, TX, Jordyn Marie Anderson of Southlake, TX, Johnna Leigh of Southlake, TX, and Matthew Zacheriah Norwood-Bunch of Richland Hills, TX; great-great granddaughter, Lilly Cookston of Bedford, TX. There will be a Service of Remembrance for the life of Peggy at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel Hurst, TX. There will be a private inurnment at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
