Fort Worth, Texas -Lee Alan Williams, 70, passed away on Friday March 25, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas. Lee was born in La Junta, CO. Otero County, to Thora Neva Russell and George Edward Williams. He spent his formative years in Manitou Springs, Co. He hired out with the Santa Fe Railroad, in Barstow, California as a Telegrapher and was an active member of the IAMAW Union. He was promoted to Trainmaster in Barstow, California, and transferred to Topeka, Kansas and was promoted to Manager of Operations. A year later was transferred to Fort Worth, Texas. He retired from the BNSF Railroad in 2016, from the merger of the Santa Fe Railroad and the Burlington Northern Railroad (BNSF). He thoroughly loved his job managing crews, training new employees and strategically planning the movements of train traffic. He was an avid reader of History, especially the World War II era. His wife, Martha inspired him to become active in local politics and also enjoyed doing various gardening projects. Lee loved to dabble in painting landscape pictures using Acrylics on canvas. He enjoyed socializing with like-minded individuals. He was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife Martha Ann Zins-Williams, their two children Christine Elizabeth Fulton of Azle, TX and Kenneth Michael Fulton and his wife Jaime of Galveston, TX, an older sister LaVonne Lightner of Manitou Springs, CO. Several Brother and Sister in laws; Bernard and Jenny Zins from Flagstaff, AZ, Jerome and Beverly Zins from Menoken, North Dakota, Veronica Zins-Miller and husband David from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Roger Zins from Raleigh, North Dakota, Leo Zins from Mandan, North Dakota, David Zins from Bismarck, North Dakota, Simon Zins and wife Charlene from New Salem, North Dakota, Arnold Zins and wife Mary Ann who live in Virginia and North Dakota. Many nieces and nephews who live in Colorado, North Dakota, California, Minnesota, and Texas. A private Memorial service will take place in McKracken, Kansas the family cemetery of his mother. No date has been set. Final interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth Veteran’s National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. Cremation will be handled with the Lucas Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1601 S. Main St., Keller, Texas 76248.
