Emmett was born Jan. 28, 1965, in Jackson, Tenn., the only son and youngest of three to E.L. and Joann Perkins. He was a very caring man and loved fiercely. He never hesitated to help someone in need, no matter the situation, he was there. He was a man of humor, always surrounded by laughter and many times the center of attention. His love and contributions will forever go on, in all of the lives he has touched. He was hard working, rarely sat down and believed in doing any job “right” the first time. He spent 20 years coaching his two boys and many other boys in soccer and was also on the Keller Soccer Association Board. He loved football and hosting Super Bowl parties and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, win or lose. He was a talented shuffle country western dance teacher and loved dancing and spinning Paula on the dancefloor. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, water volleyball, Golden Tee, air drums and air bass guitar. You could always know he was around if you heard Rush playing loudly or he was singing off-key to George Strait. His culinary specialties were making his grandmother’s yeast rolls for family and friends, as well as cooking brisket and ribs for many occasions. Emmett will be missed by his family and friends. He met the love of his life, Paula, in 1997 and married July 11, 1998. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Paula Hunter-Perkins; sons, Brandon Perkins and Hunter Perkins; sisters, Beth Campbell (Lloyd) and Vickie Jordan (Jerry); numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Pat Fernandes, Jenni Stephenson and Lauren Engel (Dalton) and their children; and a host of loving family and friends.
