Dorothy M. "Dottie" Anderson Enke

September 23, 1940 - January 16, 2022

FORT WORTH: Dorothy M. “Dottie” (Anderson) Enke, 81, died peacefully Sunday morning surrounded by her loved ones. Dottie was born in Webster County, Iowa and was the daughter of the late Elmer Anderson and Gladys (Cromwell) Anderson. She moved around to a few different states throughout her life, including her most beloved Missouri, until ending up in Texas. Dottie was a graduate of Excelsior High School. She worked for AT&T as a Switchboard Operator and later moved up to Computer Analyst before her retirement. Dottie loved quilting, cooking, playing computer games and being the rock of her very large family. Her favorite time of day was watching “Wheel of Fortune” every night with a Long Island Iced Tea in hand and her cat named “Cat” on her lap. Dottie was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, John Enke as well as by her granddaughter Megan Giraldo. She leaves her daughter, Reitha Hall and her husband Jaimie; a son Johnny Enke and his wife Bobbie; one brother Dale Anderson; four grandchildren, Brandon Giraldo, Sean and Sarah Enke, and Clayton Hall; and two great grandchildren, Kaydence and Gracelyn Steger. Her surviving family includes many other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family whom she loved dearly. Donations in Dottie’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
