His smile was as big as Texas and as bright as the morning sunshine. He loved to laugh and make others laugh as much as he loved to help others in need. Brent was born on October 23, 1989, in Fort Worth, Texas to Amanda and Brian Crawford. He was proud to be born and raised in Texas and also proud he never lived anywhere else. He was a Texan through and through. As a child, his favorite things were Jurassic Park, Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, playing outside with his sister and friends, and playing in the grass with sticks on the t-ball field. Brent was always interested in studying business, and he earned his certificate in business entrepreneurship from Baylor University in 2015. Soon after graduation, he started what he thought would be a temporary maintenance job at Paradise Cove at Lake Grapevine until he decided what career path he was going to take, but God had another plan! In his first year at Paradise Cove, he met the love of his life, and his temporary job turned into not only a career but a beautiful life. He married Tina, the owner of the business, and the two of them worked side by side running every aspect of the business. Brent was instrumental in recreating the bridal walkways and other areas that had been damaged due to a flood the business suffered just before he started his job there. He also helped to rebuild and grow the business by adding a unique yurt for overnight accommodations. Because of Brent's hard work and passion, the business is now thriving like never before. He worked hard and was so proud of all the work he did there over the past 5 and a half years. Brent absolutely loved his family. He greatly enjoyed visiting his parents just to spend quality time with them watching TV, and he was beyond thrilled to see his sister marry the love of her life and start a family. Spending time with his niece, Olivia, and nephew, Maddox, filled his heart with pure joy. He was so committed to his family; when his Nanny was very ill in the hospital, he spent countless hours by her side rubbing her head. Brent was very passionate about helping others. No matter what kind of help was needed, he would stop whatever he was doing at the drop of a hat to help someone else. He spent time taking food and clothes to the homeless in Fort Worth, volunteered at too many fundraisers to count, and even drove to Beaumont after the flood they suffered to deliver a semi truck full of supplies for the community. He and his wife walked the neighborhoods talking to people that had lost almost everything, and he helped some search in the debris for family heirlooms. He was a true angel on earth. Brent loved the Lord more than anything, including his wife, as a man should. He prayed and worshiped all day, every day. He would often be seen on his knees at Paradise Cove with his hands held high, praying over the plants he had planted that day. As heartbroken as his family and friends are that he is no longer with us, we know he is dancing in heaven with Jesus! Although his life seemed perfect, it wasn’t, as no one’s life is. Brent suffered from the illness of depression and in turn, addiction. His struggles started in his late teens, and he continuously fought to live life a life in recovery. But sadly, after a sudden relapse, this horrible addiction took his life. Brent worked closely to help others suffering from all kinds of addictions through AA and Valley Hope, and although he has left this earth, the work he did with others will live on. His family and friends will share his story to help the hopeless find hope. We will honor our precious Brent by continuing to carry the message of recovery to others. Addiction is all around us in this world, so we pray that everyone will join us as we continue to honor Brent by helping those who still suffer.
