Bobby Ray Marvel

November 9, 1934 - March 14, 2022

Obituary for Bobby Ray Marvel November 9th, 1934- March 14, 2022 Bobby Ray Marvel went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, March 14, 2022, Bobby was born in Hartman Arkansas on November 9th, 1934 to Jettie and Vira Marvel. He grew up in Clarksville AR and met Anna Faye Landthrip, his future bride, while attending Clarksville High School. Upon graduating from high school, Bobby enrolled at College of the Ozarks. In 1952 Bobby enlisted in the U.S. Army. He and Anna were married in 1956 and began their adventure of raising their family while serving their country. After serving on active duty for 12 years, Bobby began a 30+ year civilian career with GTE in the field of telecommunications. Upon retiring, Bob and Anna enjoyed camping, travel, movies and sports events (and yes, Bobby was a big sport fan of his children, grandchildren, and the Arkansas Razorbacks!) Unknown to many, he loved to sing karaoke but, within the family, he is most famous for his chocolate gravy served on a fresh morning breakfast biscuit. He will be missed. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Norman Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 65 years, Anna Faye; Sons: Bobby Jr. and wife Sandy, Scott and wife Vanessa, Tommy and wife Merritt; Brothers Jerry and wife Wendy, Paul and wife Shirley, and Sister Betty Sue DeMeyer and husband Bob, Grandchildren: Bryan, Brent, Lindsay, Aaron, Lance, Laykin, Blake, and Brody, 13 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Special thanks to Heritage House and its staff for the compassionate care and love Bob received in his final days. Celebration of Bobby’s life for family and friends will be Friday, March 18th, 2022 at 10 am at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main Street in Keller Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or a veterans’ charity in Bob’s name. Interment will be Monday, March 21st, 2022, at 3 pm in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Ludwig, Arkansas.
