Beret Gilbert went to her heavenly home Sunday, December 12, 2021. While her family and friends were not ready to for her to go, we know she was welcomed with the loving embrace of God’s arms of Love, and is now with her husband, Bruce. Services will be held at the Keller Lucas Funeral Home on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm followed by a graveside service at Bourland Cemetery in Keller. Beret was born on February 25, 1958 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a creative soul and enjoyed art and theatre. This love blossomed into an artistic career. She was a florist, portrait artist, graphic designer, and avid arts and crafter. She loved animals and was never far from her Cocker Spaniels, Birds or Sugar Gliders. On July 19, 1980, she married the love of her life, Bruce Gilbert, of Electra, Texas. Their love was based on God and sealed with laughter. Together they loved to travel, dance, ride rollercoasters, snow ski, water ski, and roller skate. She always said that the thing she loved about him most was that he made her laugh. They had 2 daughters, Kandace and Erica. She was a homemaker, Mom, and artist. She loved to paint portraits with pastels. In 1992 they moved to Keller, TX, where her husband worked for Southwest Airlines. She loved history and wanted to see the world. Southwest broadened their opportunity for travel and in 2019 they made it to the last state of visiting all 50 states. Every vacation was always an adventure. She swam with dolphins and turtles in the ocean, walked on a live volcano, searched for all the Paul Bunyan statues in Minnesota, saw ice burgs in Alaska, hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, ate lobster on a dock in Maine, and rode bikes around Mackinac Island and Key West to name a few. She loved her 3 Grandchildren and loved to teach them to bake and do arts and crafts. They often went to see movies together, and she looked forward to taking them on trips. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 41 years, Bruce Gilbert, in March of this year. It seemed her heart was unable to live without him. She was also proceeded in death by her parents Duane and Majesta Anderson, her brothers Lynn Anderson, Keith Anderson, and Kim Anderson. She was survived by her Daughter and Son in Law, Kandace and Josh Beavers of Keller; Daughter and Son in Law, Erica and Ben Poff of Keller; 3 Grandchildren, Emma and Andy Beavers, and Calvin Poff; Sister, Siri Hairell; Sister in Law, Mary Anderson; Nephews and Nieces, Dana Stanfield and her husband Nathan, Denise Anderson, Daryl Anderson and his wife Michelle, Laith Hairell and his wife Sharon, Kieran Hairell and his wife Inga, and Disa Hairell; and many great nieces and nephews.
