Barbara Lee (Seeman) Schultz

May 3, 1946 - February 14, 2022

Barbara “Barb” Lee (Seeman) Schultz, a devoted wife, beloved mother and friend to many, died on February 14, 2022, surrounded by family at her home in Bedford. She was 75. Barbara was born on May 3, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Alvin W. Seeman and Leola M. (Pautler) Seeman. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Lemay, Missouri, before working as a secretary and store manager. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Schultz, in1966 and the family relocated to Bedford in 1985.They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Barbara valued faith, family, and friendship. She dedicated countless hours to her church community, volunteering to manage the Christmas Providers charity and serving as a youth ministry leader at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Bedford. She had been active with Good Shepherd Catholic Community since the church’s inception. She loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She and her sister, Virginia Seeman, fulfilled a lifelong dream by learning to ride and owning horses as adults. Barbara also enjoyed traveling, gardening, decorating, speed skating, watching the Olympics, ice dancing, and visiting with her numerous friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, John “Jack” Seeman, Carol (Seeman) Stephens, and Richard Seeman. She is survived by her husband Lawrence “Larry” Schultz of Bedford; son, Gregory S. Schultz and daughter, Jennifer A. (Schultz) Andre and husband, Jeff Andre; grandchildren, Chandler Schultz, Atticus Radcliffe, Auden Andre, Zadie Andre, Daisy Andre, Thea Andre, Veda Andre, and Cora Andre; and sister, Virginia Seeman, and numerous nieces and nephews. A mass to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at Good Shepherd Catholic Community with Father Zachary Burns and Deacon Richard Griego officiating. Please consider donating in Barb’s memory and honor to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family would like to thank Envoy Hospice nurses Amanda G. and Angela R. for their loving care.
